10. Do You Have Any Burning Questions or Wonderings About Your Project? Or Engineering In General? I do not have any burning questions or wonderings about my project. I think that they were all answered throughout class and project work time.
11. What suggestions do you have for this class? What worked? What didn’t? Any ideas why? At this point, I feel like i'm becoming a little to repetitive. My one suggestion is to ask for more time to work with other forms of code. I thought the two days we had at the beginning of the project were really helpful. Expanding into the whole class, I really liked making the Salt and Pepper Shakers for our first engineering project. I thought this project was extremely helpful and taught me how to use the tools in the shop which we used for the remainder of the quarter.
- What did you like about your project? I really liked that our project was unique to what we wanted to do. We did a lot of research and this project turned into our own over time. I liked that our project could potentially be used in the real world. It could act as a household decoration or something even bigger.
- Why Did You Choose This Project? We chose this project because it is that we can use in the future. I like this because a lot of the other projects people have made are something that they could not use everyday. As stated before, ours could be used in more than one way outside of class.
- Are you excited/proud to show your project at exhibition? Why? I am really excited to show this project at exhibition. Both Stevie and I have spent a lot of time working on this project to make sure that it works correctly every time. Because of this, we want to show it off to all of our fellow classmates.
- What did YOU do for your project specifically? For our project, we made sure the workload was equally split up. However, specifically, I created the box in Illustrator and cut it on the laser cutter. Also, I assisted in editing and testing our code and wired our final setup. I also spent quite a bit of time doing research on code and RGB LED's. Everything I did is something that would benefit our project in the long run.
- What worked, or didn’t in your final version of your project? Why? We were really happy that we were one of the only groups who ended up with a successful final product. We were lucky enough that our idea hadn't changed since day one. We know that this was a problem for many of the other groups in class. However, everything worked correctly and as planned when it came to exhibiting the final product of our project.
- What Could Be Done to Make Your Project Work Better in Future Iterations? The one thing that would have really helped me was having more time to work with code. This was a concept that was brand new to me and I have never used before. Because of this, I think I would have liked more days where we got to learn about code in a basic form. For example, using morse code for our birthdays was something that was helpful. Having more days like this could have helped me improve my knowledge of code. If I had this, I could have made my project even better than it already was.
- Why Do You Think Your Project Was Successful or Not? What Lessons Were Learned From This? I think our project was successful because it was our original plan that we carried from the beginning of the project. While some ideas were changed, they were not major changes. Also, there was a lot of communication between me and my partner. Because we got along so well, it helped benefit the outcome of our project. I also learned that having good communication throughout the project will ensure that we are not stressed at the end.
- How Would You Change Your Project if You Could? What if You Could Change Something About This Class? I do not think I would want to change my project. I am really happy with the outcome and all of our hard work seemed to pay off. Also, the one thing I would change about the class is having more time to get used to code. I know this is something I already mentioned but I think it would have helped to benefit our projects if we had extra time to work with code.
- How Did Your Teams Work Out? Would You Suggest Keeping Team Selection Open, Or Should I Choose Partners?
